Origin Middle East. Also called: lime. The many qualities of lemon have been known for so long that there is no more wild form. The first traces of culture date back 7000 years and have been identified in Iran. Lemon zest is very often added to cooked creams. The candied bark flavors the pastries and the acidity of the lemon juice goes just as well with sweet dishes as with fish and white meats.
